Background

In the turbulent times of “Cloud computing”, the application of power cloud has also been put on the agenda. As a provider of domestic cloud computing solutions, Sugon has naturally become the major choice of various power industries.

State Grid is an important state-owned enterprise mastering the national energy security and national economy, its core business is investment, construction and operation of the grid, so that to provide strong power guarantee for economic and social development. Therefore, the client has extremely high requirement for the reliability and stability of the power system. Additionally, the business research and disciplinary research of the State Grid also decides that it has higher requirements for huge data volume, strong concurrent ability, real-time data transmission and multiple types of data.

Core demands

The State Grid hopes to realize the real-time simulation management on the grid through the latest power cloud solutions. Also to combine the data stored in the planned grid database with the actual simulation computation, Sugon further constructed the grid planned simulation computing data application system to realize the correct application of the data stored in the planed grid database, this had become an urgent demand.

Solutions

Sugon provided the State Grid with an overall power real-time simulation system, with the latest power cloud solution, Sugon helped the State Grid achieved real-time simulation management. Also to combine the data stored in the planned grid database with the actual simulation computation, Sugon further constructed the grid planned simulation computing data application system to realize the correct application of the data stored in the planed grid database, this had become an urgent demand.

The real-time simulation solution adopts Sugon CB85 as the main computing node, Gigabit Ethernet port was used to ensure the stable operation of the network transmission environment. To enable the user to more conveniently manage the system and achieve the energy saving and high efficiency purpose, Sugon introduced the GridView enterprise-class management software and Powerconf energy saving software in this solution.

The solution mainly applies high speed IO and concurrent computing to realize real-time monitoring and scheduling on the grid.

Trough analysis and forecast, Sugon believed that the future development demand and scale of the State Grid will expand continuously. While to ensure the stable operation of the system, Sugon strived to meet the current demands, meanwhile, the company proposed more powerful foreseeable solutions against the future development demands.
